Since 2017, we have hosted various private events, company projects and employee volunteering activities to amplify the value of sustainability through actionable solutions for the urban context.
Programs
Since 2017, we have developed programs to simplify sustainability through actionable solutions for the urban context. We hold public workshops, design children nature programs and customize company events to amplify our collective awareness, understanding and empowerment.
Our workshops are fully designed to answer the struggles of the common layperson, equipping beginner gardeners of the essential foundations to become thriving Earth-keepers from home. We also have more advanced programs for those wishing to dive deeper into permaculture design and integrate sustainable systems into their homes and everyday lives.
Our workshops are conducted both online and offline. We cover fundamental principles as well practical, applied solutions to generate thorough awareness and capacity building of the learner. We also cater to both children and adults as well as sessions in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
What We Do
School Programs
Since 2017, Kebun Kumara has supported schools with ecological education for their students which are suited with the varied learning needs of participants.
Nature Playschool
An outdoor, garden-inspired, nature-based experiential learning for children aged 18 months up to 6 years.
Basic Gardening Workshop
A theoretical and practical class on the basics of sustainable, organic gardening, natural means of creating fertile soil, basic gardening techniques, and the effective approaches to plant care.
Urban Home Composting Workshop
A fun and interactive session via lecture and live demonstration on the basic elements of composting.
Soil Workshop
If you already have access to soil at home, understanding its basic state is key to growing a flourishing garden.
Seed Starting Workshop
Growing food from seeds allows you to harvest a greater variety of produce, and this workshop will help you understand all the fundamentals of seeds.
Integrated Pest Management
This workshop will explore the concept of an integrated, holistic approach to pest management, which recognizes garden wildlife as a natural indication of a healthy garden.
Backyard Chicken Workshop
An elaborate and intimate workshop covering the basics of raising backyard chickens for the urban context.

We also provide interactive talks, presentations and webinars. As speakers, we share insights, learnings and tips and tricks around food sustenance, household waste management and so more people can feel empowered to begin their own sustainable journey.
